The IMEKO World Congress 2027 will host a dedicated Live Demonstration Track, designed to provide researchers, innovators, and industrial partners with an engaging and interactive environment for showcasing working prototypes, experimental platforms, advanced measurement systems, and emerging technological solutions.
Unlike traditional oral or poster presentations, the Live Demonstration Track offers participants the opportunity to experience research results in action through direct interaction with demonstrators and hands-on exploration of real systems. The initiative aims to foster discussion, networking, technology transfer, and multidisciplinary collaboration among researchers, students, companies, and conference attendees.
Demonstrations may include hardware prototypes, embedded systems, robotic platforms, sensor networks, AI-driven measurement applications, digital twins, immersive technologies, cyber-physical systems, smart instrumentation, industrial IoT solutions, and any other innovative research activity related to the broad field of measurement science and technology.
Authors presenting papers at the IMEKO World Congress 2027 are especially encouraged to complement their scientific contribution with a live demonstration, offering attendees a deeper understanding of the proposed methodologies, experimental setups, and practical applications.
The demonstrations will be hosted in dedicated exhibition areas equipped with tables and power supply, provided by the conference organization at no additional cost for the demonstrators. Participation in the Live Demonstration Track is completely free of charge for registered conference attendees, offering researchers and innovators a unique opportunity to showcase their work, interact directly with visitors, discuss the scientific and technological aspects of their systems, and create a memorable and impactful experience for the audience.
Best Live Demonstration Awards
To encourage high-quality and engaging demonstrations, a Best Live Demonstration Contest will be organized during the conference. The awards, sponsored by Arcadia S.r.l., an Italian innovative startup active in technology transfer and advanced research applications, will recognize the most innovative, interactive, and scientifically relevant demonstrations. Arcadia operates in areas related to advanced measurement and monitoring systems, embedded and IoT technologies, and innovative approaches for education and dissemination in metrology and engineering sciences, supporting initiatives that promote the practical impact and real-world exploitation of scientific research.
AWARDS
🥇 First Prize: €1500
🥈 Second Prize: €750
🥉 Third Prize: Embedded Development System
The evaluation will be carried out by a dedicated committee of experts composed of academics, researchers, and industry representatives, and will also include feedback and votes collected from conference participants attending the demonstrations. The assessment will consider:
- scientific and technological innovation;
- quality and effectiveness of the demonstration;
- visitor engagement and interactivity;
- potential impact on measurement science and industrial applications.
Demonstration Submission Guidelines
Prospective demonstrators are invited to submit their demonstration proposals by filling out the dedicated submission form available at the bottom of this page.
The proposal should clearly describe:
- Demonstration title and authors information
- Demonstration setup. Describe the hardware, software, instrumentation, or experimental equipment that will be presented during the conference. Include photographs, screenshots, or schematic representations whenever possible. Authors should also specify any special logistical requirements.
- Visitor experience and interaction. Explain how attendees will interact with the demonstration and what they will experience during the session.
- Scientific background. Include references to related publications, ongoing projects, or research activities connected to the proposed demonstration.
- Technical requirements. Indicate required space, connectivity, power needs, safety constraints, or any other organizational aspects relevant for the setup.
The conference organization will provide the basic exhibition infrastructure, including a table and standard power supply for each demonstration area. Demonstrators are kindly invited to arrange the transportation, setup, and operation of their own equipment, while any specific technical or logistical requirements can be discussed in advance with the organizing committee to facilitate the best possible demonstration experience.
Demonstration Preview Video
To increase visibility and improve attendee engagement, all accepted demonstrations will be required to provide a short preview video approximately 1–2 months before the conference.
The video will be made available through the conference platform and communication channels, allowing participants to:
- preview the demonstrations before the event;
- identify demonstrations of interest;
- better organize their participation during the congress;
- facilitate interaction between demonstrators and attendees.
The preview video should briefly present:
- the research context;
- the demonstration objectives;
- the experimental setup;
- the expected interaction with visitors.
Additional technical specifications for the video submission will be communicated after acceptance.
